At Extractify, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our service. By using Extractify, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.

Information We Collect

GitHub Account Information

When you authenticate with GitHub, we receive basic account information such as your username, email address, and profile picture. This information is used to create and maintain your Extractify account.

GitHub Access Tokens

We store GitHub OAuth tokens to access repositories on your behalf. These tokens are encrypted and securely stored to protect your GitHub account.

Repository Data

We temporarily process code from repositories you choose to extract. We store references to repositories you have accessed to provide a history feature, but we do not permanently store the actual code content from these repositories.

Local File Data

When you use our local file extraction feature, all processing is performed entirely within your browser. We do not receive, transmit, or store any of your local file content on our servers. The content of your local files never leaves your device.

Usage Information

We collect anonymized data about how you use Extractify, including features used, extraction frequency, and application performance metrics. This helps us improve our service.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve Extractify services
  • Authenticate you with GitHub and access repositories on your behalf
  • Store your repository history for convenient access
  • Monitor and analyze usage patterns to enhance features
  • Detect and address technical issues
  • Communicate updates and information about our service

Regarding Local Files: Since all local file processing occurs entirely within your browser, we do not collect, process, or store any content from your local files on our servers.

Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information:

  • All data transmission is protected with HTTPS encryption
  • GitHub access tokens are encrypted at rest
  • We utilize secure Firebase authentication and storage systems
  • Local file processing happens entirely in your browser, ensuring your code never leaves your device
  • Regular security reviews and updates to maintain best practices
  • Limited employee access to user data on a need-to-know basis

While we implement these safeguards, no internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

Data Retention

We retain your account information and repository history as long as your account is active. You can delete your repository history at any time through the application interface. If you wish to completely delete your account and all associated data, please contact us at videna.psalmeleazar@gmail.com.

Local File Data: Since all local file processing is performed client-side in your browser, no local file data is retained on our servers. The processed content exists only temporarily in your browse's memory and is cleared when you close the application or navigate away.

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access and receive a copy of your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • Object to or restrict processing of your data
  • Data portability

To exercise these rights, please contact us at videna.psalmeleazar@gmail.com.
